Most of the time, Bruce goes barefoot … but when he can’t, these are the sandals he wears. He even has a pair of black rope sandals that he calls his “dress shoes!”
Over ten years ago, Bruce bought his first pair of rope sandals at an Earth Day event. It was the beginning of a beautiful relationship! He has never worn any other sandals since! They gave him the feeling of going barefoot, which he does as often as possible.
Through the years, we’d luckily find another pair on our travels, at a hippie shop or event and were always relieved to find them. But … it was always like searching for a lost treasure.
Imagine our delight when we visited a hippie commune and discovered these sandals were made right there, in a little upstairs loft of one of their buildings.
It didn’t take us long to arrange a business partnership with the hippies. It’s a win/win … providing support to the commune and providing gas $ for our travels!
I wear them with everything … jeans, capris, shorts, dresses and always get so many comments on how cute they are!
My daughter loves wearing them to the beach in California. Perfect for sand! And guess what – perfect for water as well! If you have ever slipped on the slimy rocks in creeks, you NEED these sandals. No more treacherous steps while you enjoy walks in creeks – they provide great traction.
We started selling them in Quartzsite, AZ where we spend the winter. Then branched out to sell them online in our Etsy store. It’s been a fantastic venture! We love the feedback we get … everyone loves these sandals!
