Visualizing Our Vanabode Dream

Visualizing our Vanabode Dream

The Journal of our Manifestation Journey

Faith is to believe what you do not see and the reward of that faith is to see what you believe.
– St. Augustine

It’s been a couple of weeks since Bruce and I made the decision to Vanabode.  During this time, we have been immersed in thinking and reading and visualizing our Vanabode lifestyle.

one-year-on-the-naked-hippies-roadtrip
We DID IT! Our dream became our reality!

It’s a familiar journey, for we recognize the excitement, the anticipation and the assurance that we WILL do this.  We’ve done it before, when we dreamed and planned and made space to live fulltime in a RV.

This dream, though, is buoyed by the experiences we’ve had over the past eight years of taking leaps of faith, of studying personal growth, and of applying Laws of the Universe to our life.  I believe this dream will become our reality in a relative short time as compared to the time it took us to finally get the wheels moving on our camper in 2013.

And, just as before, we don’t know how or when or where our Vanabode will show up, we just know that it will.

There are a few steps we are taking right now, a few rules we have set, in anticipation and preparation for the arrival of our Vanabode.

1. Daily Meditation

Daily meditation has become a habit for us over the past several months.  It is during meditation that ideas begin to flow and we are able to see and feel our dream of Vanaboding as if it is happening now.

Meditation has so many benefits to our health, our emotional well-being, our reactions and our state of mind.  Too many people medicate with Xanax or anti-depressants to feel peaceful and calm – we don’t medicate, we meditate.

We recreated our vision board with pictures of the Vanabode (inside and out), a map showing the East Coast roadtrip we will take from Maine to Key West, Thoreau’s simple little cabin at Walden Pond (which I am excited to visit), and the autumn colors of New England which we’ve not yet experienced in person.

This is our vision board – what we see as we fall asleep every night and when we wake up every morning in our camper.

I’m such a visual person that these pictures help me “see” the dream as I visualize during meditation.

2.  Letting Go of the How

This requires a constant awareness because we are so used to taking control and figuring out solutions to everything in life.  Yet, it is exactly what jumbles up the process, slows it down, and prevents your desire from showing up.

As soon as you begin to work out the details, trying to tell the Universe where to find the means to get you to your dream, the door to all the incredible solutions that you didn’t know about slams shut.

So, we are letting go and allowing the Universe to place people, places, things in our path to help us.  Now, before you think we are  sitting around on our asses waiting for everything to be dropped in our laps … there are some actions we are deliberately taking.

3.  Taking Action, Too

Before we manifested our pickup camper, we took action to make space for our dream of living on a never-ending roadtrip.  It was drastic measure from most people’s perspective, but it was exactly the right action for us.  We got rid of everything in our two bedroom duplex and moved into a tent for the summer.  The next Spring, our camper showed up.

We have lived and traveled in this pickup camper since 2010.  Every inch of space has been utilized … and then some.  It’s time to downsize AGAIN!

The goal we have set is to do something to downsize every single day.  Remove something from this camper on a daily basis, until we are down to the minimal basics that we’ll need for our Vanabode.

We will have six plastic containers that are stored under the bed and a set of stacking drawer containers behind the driver’s seat.  So far, I’ve decided I will use the containers as follows, but these plans are subject to change, as we get down to the final move in.

  1. Kitchen utensils
  2. Pantry items
  3. Books and CDs
  4. Tech stuff, tools, duct tape, etc.
  5. Clothes
  6. ??

See?  This is still unfolding as we downsize. My plan is to purchase one of the storage containers to use as a guide for what to keep.  It will have to all fit in these containers … if not, donate it or junk it.

4. Awareness and Expectancy State of Being

We remind each other continuously of this dream in conversations between the two of us, and with others.  Having a mindset of expectancy is what fuels the manifestation.  We think and act and speak without any doubt or hesitancy.  Instead of saying “IF” we say “WHEN.”    For example,  “If we can find a Vanbode for the right price,”  we say, “won’t it be fun when we find the right Vanabode.”

And then, we stay aware of the unexpected solutions that the Universe sends to us.  It just goes along with letting go and not trying to figure out how this is going to happen.

Everything you can imagine is real.
― Pablo Picasso

I’m sitting here in the camper, looking at a Mason jar filled with shells and sand and rocks and acorns that I picked up as we traveled last year.  I smile as I am reminded of all the beautiful places we visited and now realize this jar will be emptied and not part of our next journey in the Vanabode.

downsizing-to-vanabode-naked-hippies-roadtrip
Seashells, rocks, sand, pinecones, cotton, feathers, spanish moss, cactus pod, seaweed … all reminders of the beauty of nature we experienced

Maybe I’ll find a place in the woods here in the Ozarks to build a little gratitude shrine for all the memories these items hold.  I’ll return them to nature – and in a thousand years, some archaeologist will find seashells in the Ozarks and wonder what strange phenomena caused them to be deposited here.  J

I know what will happen next … we’ll be walking along a beach in Maine or Massachusetts and I’ll see a shell that I’ll slip into my pocket … and soon, another mason jar will begin to be filled with nature’s memories again.

Visualizing our Vanabode dream is fun and exciting.  This series of blog posts will keep you entertained for sure, but also make you part of this incredible journey.  We are honored that you dream and imagine with us.

Why I Recommend These Books for Internet Marketers

read_quote_Naked_Hippies_Roadtrip

So many books, so little time – right?

I know you are busy and finding time to read is sometimes a challenge, but it is so crucial and vital to your personal and financial growth.

This list of books is what I recommend to anyone who is thinking about or already immersed in internet marketing.

Anyone who has the desire to build a business from home to earn extra income or replace their fulltime income at a 9-5 job.

If you have read them once, read them again. Each time you go back and read the same book, you are not the same person you were when you first read it.  Something new will jump out at you, impact you, give you fresh ideas to implement in your life and in your business.

MY LIST OF RECOMMENDED BOOKS … AND WHY

1.  Go Pro by Eric Worre
If you have never been in this industry, this is a first must-read.  It will give you an overall picture of the complete process, a seven step plan, and insight for building your business to become a legacy, not a trial and error thing like most people do.

If you are in the midst of building your business and have hit a wall, this book will help you discover what you are missing in your day to day actions.

“Go Pro” is specifically helpful for those in a MLM (multi-level marketing company.)

2. Magnetic Sponsoring by Mike Dillard

Are you tired of chasing everyone? Have your friends and family started running in the other direction when they see you coming?
Tired of cold calling? Tired of home parties? Tired of posting flyers all over town?

This book is THE book for teaching you Attraction Marketing; i.e., the process of turning the tables so people hunt you down instead of you being the hunter.

In addition, it will give you clarity and understanding about the importance of building YOUR own business, regardless of the MLM company you are currently promoting.

3.  The Slight Edge by Jeff Olsen

For those who feel like nothing is happening, nothing is working right in their business … this is for you.

For those who desire to build their internet business the right way so that results are assured … this is for you.

“The Slight Edge” principle is simple but so very powerful.  If you consistently and persistently show up every day, do the work you have planned, and do it no matter what … the Slight Edge works in your favor.

But it also works if you decide to skip a few days, miss sending an email or writing a blog post.

It works for or against you.  Each consistent action builds the momentum until there is a shift, a shift to amazing results.

4.  E2 and E3 by Pam Grout

These two books are filled with fun exercises to prove that you can manifest anything you desire.  Let go of your perception about the
Law of Attraction.  Pam takes you on a fascinating journey of experiments that will eliminate all doubt about the power you have to create your desired outcomes.

5. Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T Harv Eker

Did you know that everything you experienced, saw and heard from parents, teachers, friends, pastors, TV and movies created a financial blueprint that is responsible for your current money issues?

T Harv Eker is a brilliant author and speaker who will help you change that blueprint by releasing the self-limiting beliefs that are holding you back.

That’s it!  That’s my list of the five books I recommend to those who hold the vision for change and seek to create the life they desire.

Of course, there are tons more books that are incredibly helpful and valuable for this journey.

You can’t go wrong by reading books like these for 15-30 minutes a day.  It will feed your mind and fill you with knowledge and understanding to grow yourself and your business.

Play the Movie … visualization and affirmation tips from Jack Canfield

Doesn’t it seem that no matter how many books you study on
the Law of Attraction, no matter how many personal development
leaders have taught the value of visualization and affirmations,
so many people still struggle to manifest their desired outcomes.

In this article, Jack Canfield gives a step by step guide to visualize
and affirm your desires.

If this helps you today, share it. Others are waiting to hear this
from you.

I AM affirmation

Visualize and Affirm Your Desired Outcomes: A Step-by-Step Guide – by Jack Canfield

You have an awesome power that most of us have never been taught to use effectively.

Elite athletes use it. The super rich use it. And peak performers in all fields now use it. That power is called visualization.

The daily practice of visualizing your dreams as already complete can rapidly accelerate your achievement of those dreams, goals and ambitions.

Visualization of your goals and desires accomplishes four very important things.

1.) It activates your creative subconscious which will start generating creative ideas to achieve your goal.

2.) It programs your brain to more readily perceive and recognize the resources you will need to achieve your dreams.

3.) It activates the law of attraction, thereby drawing into your life the people, resources, and circumstances you will need to achieve your goals.

4.) It builds your internal motivation to take the necessary actions to achieve your dreams.

Visualization is really quite simple. You sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes and imagine — in as vivid detail as you can — what you would be looking at if the dream you have were already realized. Imagine being inside of yourself, looking out through your eyes at the ideal result.

Mental Rehearsal

Athletes call this visualization process “mental rehearsal,” and they have been using it since the 1960s when we learned about it from the Russians.

All you have to do is set aside a few minutes a day. The best times are when you first wake up, after meditation or prayer, and right before you go to bed. These are the times you are most relaxed.

Go through the following three steps:

STEP 1. Imagine sitting in a movie theater, the lights dim, and then the movie starts. It is a movie of you doing perfectly whatever it is that you want to do better. See as much detail as you can create, including your clothing, the expression on your face, small body movements, the environment and any other people that might be around. Add in any sounds you would be hearing — traffic, music, other people talking, cheering. And finally, recreate in your body any feelings you think you would be experiencing as you engage in this activity.

STEP 2. Get out of your chair, walk up to the screen, open a door in the screen and enter into the movie. Now experience the whole thing again from inside of yourself, looking out through your eyes. This is called an “embodied image” rather than a “distant image.” It will deepen the impact of the experience. Again, see everything in vivid detail, hear the sounds you would hear, and feel the feelings you would feel.

STEP 3. Finally, walk back out of the screen that is still showing the picture of you performing perfectly, return to your seat in the theater, reach out and grab the screen and shrink it down to the size of a cracker. Then, bring this miniature screen up to your mouth, chew it up and swallow it. Imagine that each tiny piece — just like a hologram — contains the full picture of you performing well. Imagine all these little screens traveling down into your stomach and out through the bloodstream into every cell of your body. Then imagine that every cell of your body is lit up with a movie of you performing perfectly. It’s like one of those appliance store windows where 50 televisions are all tuned to the same channel.

When you have finished this process — it should take less than five minutes — you can open your eyes and go about your business. If you make this part of your daily routine, you will be amazed at how much improvement you will see in your life.

Create Goal Pictures

Another powerful technique is to create a photograph or picture of yourself with your goal, as if it were already completed. If one of your goals is to own a new car, take your camera down to your local auto dealer and have a picture taken of yourself sitting behind the wheel of your dream car. If your goal is to visit Paris, find a picture or poster of the Eiffel Tower and cut out a picture of yourself and place it into the picture.

Create a Visual Picture and an Affirmation for Each Goal

We recommend that you find or create a picture of every aspect of your dream life. Create a picture or a visual representation for every goal you have — financial, career, recreation, new skills and abilities, things you want to purchase, and so on.

When we were writing the very first Chicken Soup for the Soul® book, we took a copy of the New York Times best seller list, scanned it into our computer, and using the same font as the newspaper, typed Chicken Soup for the Soul into the number one position in the “Paperback Advice, How-To and Miscellaneous” category. We printed several copies and hung them up around the office. Less than two years later, our book was the number one book in that category and stayed there for over a year!

Index Cards

We practice a similar discipline every day. We each have a list of about 30-40 goals we are currently working on. We write each goal on a 3×5 index card and keep those cards near our bed and take them with us when we travel. Each morning and each night we go through the stack of cards, one at a time, read the card, close our eyes, see the completion of that goal in its perfect desired state for about 15 seconds, open our eyes and repeat the process with the next card.

Use Affirmations to Support Your Visualization

An affirmation is a statement that evokes not only a picture, but the experience of already having what you want. Here’s an example of an affirmation:

I am happily vacationing 2 months out of the year in a tropical paradise, and working just four days a week owning my own business.

Repeating an affirmation several times a day keeps you focused on your goal, strengthens your motivation, and programs your subconscious by sending an order to your crew to do whatever it takes to make that goal happen.

Expect Results

Through writing down your goals, using the power of visualization and repeating your affirmations, you can achieve amazing results.

Visualization and affirmations allow you to change your beliefsassumptions, and opinions about the most important person in your life — YOU! They allow you to harness the 18 billion brain cells in your brain and get them all working in a singular and purposeful direction.

Your subconscious will become engaged in a process that transforms you forever. The process is invisible and doesn’t take a long time. It just happens over time, as long as you put in the time to visualize and affirm, surround yourself with positive people, read uplifting books and listen to audio programs that flood your mind with positive, life-affirming messages.

If you would like a step-by-step, comprehensive approach for defining your goals, creating affirmations for them and how to create a powerful visual support system, take a look at our Vision Boards Kits… they contains a everything you need–just add your dreams!

Repeat your affirmations every morning and night for a month and they will become an automatic part of your thinking… woven into the very fabric of your being.
