Living in Instant Gratification Mode

We are living in instant gratification mode.

We want everything NOW. In fact, we EXPECT it.

Our culture has become one of instant gratification, instant reward.

For example …

We go through a fast-food drive thru and get irritated if we have to pull forward and wait a few minutes for our food.

Our internet doesn’t load pages instantly and we get start gritting our teeth.

Our viewing habits on the internet reveal the impatience that has developed by the instant gratification culture.

A recent study of 6.7 million internet users revealed that viewers became impatient after waiting for 2 seconds. After five seconds, 25% of the viewers clicked off. At ten seconds, 50% were gone.

Retailers now offer same-day, overnight or two-day delivery services.

Our Smartphone apps eliminate the wait for a cab, a date, or a table at a restaurant.

Streaming movies and TV shows has become the norm. Netflix has 33 million customers who stream videos compared to 8 million who order the DVDs by mail.

Visitors at Disney World and other amusement parks pay for a “fast” pass so they don’t have to wait in line.

It’s apparent – we are gravitation toward being more focused on quick fun and instant results than on reading books or magazines.

That echoes the Pew study where researchers found the rapid pace of technology can lead to more nimble thinking, but that “trends are leading to a future in which most people are shallow consumers of information.”

And that’s just the beginning of this discussion …

Instant gratification prevails in the internet marketing industry, too. It constantly shows up when people join a business opportunity and expect to receive income immediately, and become angry and bitter when it doesn’t happen for them. (Of course, hype and spammed ads play a huge role in this – ads which promise big money in 30 days.)

And then, there’s the personal development journey of discovery and growth that many entrepreneurs value and study; but even in this quest, people desire results NOW.

We read books like Think and Grow Rich, the Master Key System, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind and we “get it” – we understand what is being taught – but the changes we desire don’t just miraculously happen overnight.

Charles Haanel writes in Chapter 23 of the Master Key System:

Perfection in this is not acquired in six days,
nor in six weeks, nor in six months. It is the
labor of life.

A favorite saying rings true, “The hurrier I go, the behinder I get.”

It is best to remember this advice as you are seeking to grow personally and financially:

To go fast, go slow. To go slow, go fast.

We will always be learning more about ourselves, our power, our ability to create and manifest our desires. Sometimes, results will be instant; however, most of the time it will seem like it’s taking
F O R E V E R.

When the wait seems so long, problems arise. Doubt starts to seep in and take over your thoughts and emotions.

Maybe I’m not cut out for this,

Maybe I’m not smart enough, techy enough,

Maybe I’m too old

Maybe I should give up

These doubts sneak up on you because you start looking around and see other people’s results, and it seems like they are just breezing through, having all kinds of success.

Your thoughts begin to drift away from your ability for creating more, taking inspired action, being open to the people and things that are put in your path to help you achieve all that you desire.

Doubt sneaks in until you are thinking more about what you aren’t accomplishing rather than what you are.

And, as the Law of Attraction teaches – what you think about comes about.

Another issue that often develops on the journey of personal development is separating the study and practice from all that you do.

If personal development is just a thing you do in your spare time, as opposed to a way of life, well, the results will be temporary and unfulfilling.

If I asked most people, “What do you do for personal development?” I know the answers I would hear: I read, study, meditate, visualize, repeat affirmations, etc.

If you view personal development as a tool to pick up and master in order to get results, you are missing the secret.

Personal development is not a tool, it is a way of being.

But, if you totally immerse in personal development – in thinking, acting, believing, doing all that you have learned and have yet to learn; if it has become your normal operating mode – where you don’t have to think about it – you just live it 24/7, you will create the life and results that you desire.

August Turak author of Business Secrets of the Trappist Monks: One CEO’s Quest for Meaning and Authenticity writes

“Whether you call it personal development, personal growth, self-actualization, self-transcendence, or spirituality does not matter. What matters is realizing that the reason you were born is to become the best human being you can possibly be. Personal development is not a tool for reaching a bigger goal. Becoming a complete human being is already the biggest and most noble goal you can aspire to.”

Really, it just goes back to familiar words: “seek ye first … and all these things will be added unto you.”

It is through aligning your thoughts and beliefs with Universe – God – Source – Spirit that is the goal. Making the connection – creating the harmony between your desires and beliefs.

Seek the connection, the alignment first in every single thing you do.

Ask yourself as you go through your day making decisions, marketing your business:

Will this help me become a better person?
Does this serve the highest good?
Am I growing?
Am I moving forward?
Am I becoming more aligned?

Of course, it’s hard to take your mind of the money because as Charles Haanel writes in The Master Key System “money weaves itself into the entire fabric of our very existence.”

It’s why we go to work at the 8-5. It’s why we decide to start our own business. Money is woven into our existence.

But our success is not measured in a dollar amount. That’s what the world wants us to believe and we get caught up in that. We ooh and aah over income levels.

Success is not measured in dollar amounts.

The law of success is service.

We get what we give.

To get more get value, you must give more give value. It’s the Golden Rule, Karma, the Law of Compensation.

For this reason we should consider it a great privilege to be able to give.

Not only of our money, but of our time, our joy and happiness, our patience and understanding, our love and encouragement. You have much to give to others.

When we avail ourselves as servants to others, we become a conduit for more, for the flow, for the alignment with Universal Power.

When we look at the outside and see what others are achieving and start comparing, we start doubting and the flow is stopped.

Les Brown speaks on giving in this powerful speech:

See yourself as an opening for the Universe to work through to move through to make a difference in life. –Les Brown

You give but little when you give of your possessions.
It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.
There are those who give little of the much which they have–and they give it for recognition and their hidden desire makes their gifts unwholesome.

And there are those who have little and give it all.

These are the believers in life and the bounty of life, and their coffer is never empty.

Serving is the way of being and
giving is the means of serving.

Living in instant gratification mode can be rewarding if you focus solely on giving to others. The instant gratification will be a feeling of joy and love … and you absolutely can’t beat that feeling.

Prodigal Son or Complaining Brother?

Do you remember the parable of the prodigal son?

The story recently came to mind as I studied The Master Key System by Charles Haanel.

Haanel writes in Chapter 20, “Spiritual wealth: unless you recognize it and use it, it will have no value. The one and only condition of spiritual power is use or recognition.”

A parable is a short story intended to illustrate a spiritual lesson. In the story of the prodigal son is the same message that Charles Haanel teaches in The Master Key System.

We can fail to recognize this world within, and so exclude it from our consciousness, but it will still be the basic fact of all existence; and when we learn to recognize it, not only in ourselves, but in all persons, events, things and circumstances we shall have found the “Kingdom of heaven” which we are told is “within” us. -Haanel

As the story goes … a father gave his younger son his share of the family fortune and as you know, the son took off and squandered everything. When he returned home, he was greeted with a party which totally pissed off his older brother.

The older brother complained how unfair it was because he had played by the rules and never messed up.

His father replied, “Son, you don’t understand. You’re with me all the time, and everything that is mine is yours. All you have to do is understand that it belongs to you and you can ask for it any time! It doesn’t become useful until you acknowledge it and receive it.”

The lesson of the Prodigal Son lies in this question:

Which one are you? The prodigal son or the jealous brother?

The older son recognized, asked and received the gifts that were available to him.

He took action. He dared to live life differently, to try something he had never done before.

He lost it all.

Did he give up, say this doesn’t work, throw in the towel and agree to struggle for the rest of his life?

NO!

He didn’t stay in the lowest, desperate, financially devasted state because … he remembered.

He remembered that spiritual wealth is always available to everyone. He reconnected to the Universal Source where all that he needed, desired, and imagined was waiting for him.

He returned home.

Home – the re-connection to Universal mind, to the ALL in ALL for he knew that He who made him was in him … was him.

The brother, on the other hand, complained and became bitter, jealous, envious crying out “it’s not fair.”

He did not recognize or make use of the spiritual wealth that was his to access at anytime.

His father reminded him, “Son, all you have to do is understand that it belongs to you and you can ask for it any time! It doesn’t become useful until you acknowledge it and receive it.”

We can take this a little deeper and see how it also applies to your experiences in building your business.

As marketers, especially when you are not seeing the results that you desire, you have probably at one time or another experienced the feeling of jealousy and envy when you witness the success of others.

You become like the other brother.

You begin to think “they are better than me, more skillful, more knowledgeable … even lucky.”

You begin to feel resentment, jealousy, even anger.

When that happens, it’s time to recognize that the power to receive more blessings is already within you. You just have to recognize it and use it, as Charles Haanel teaches.

When you begin to perceive that the essence of the Universal is within yourself—is you—you begin to do things; you begin to feel your power; it is the fuel which fires the imagination; which lights the torch of inspiration; which gives vitality to thought; which enables you to connect with all the invisible forces of the Universe. It is this power which will enable you to plan fearlessly, to execute masterfully. -Haanel

On the other hand, if you, like the prodigal son, have tried and failed, all is not lost.

It isn’t your last rodeo.

Just go back home … AGAIN.

Reconnect with He who made you and is in you … and is you.

There you will be greeted with embraces and celebrations, luscious robes, the fatted calf, the golden ring on your hand for it is all available and waiting for you.

“In him we live and move and have our being” is literally and scientifically exact! That you ARE because He IS, that if He is Omnipresent He must be in you. That if He is all in all you must be in Him! That He is Spirit and you are made in “His image and likeness” and that the only difference between His spirit and your spirit is one of degree, that a part must be the same in kind and quality as the whole. When you can realize this clearly you will have found the secret of the creative power of thought, you will have found the origin of both good and evil, you will have found the secret of the wonderful power of concentration, you will have found the key to the solution of every problem whether physical, financial, or environmental. -Haanel

The key to manifesting the desires for success and abundance is to connect with the power that is within you.

When you do, there will be no jealousy or blame. There will be no fear or doubt.

You just have to recognize and access the power that is yours.

The secret of power is a perfect understanding of the principles, forces, methods and combinations of Mind, and a perfect understanding of our relationship to the Universal Mind. It is well to remember that this principle is unchangeable; if this were not so, it would not be reliable; all principles are changeless. This stability is your opportunity; you are its active attribute, the channel for its activity; the Universal can act only through the individual. -Haanel

This classic book, “The Master Key System” was written over one hundred years ago but the message is as prevalent today as it was back then.

We are the Key Masters

We are the Key Masters … those of us who are leading the way for others to follow on the road to freedom.

In this article by Joe Schroeder, he explains what out duty is as Key Masters. It may surprise you. It will definitely stretch your thinking. It will empower and strengthen your resolve.

The Prison Talk by Joe Schroeder

When you KNOW YOU KNOW,

that becomes your BURDEN.

Consider this:

When you FIND the ABSOLUTE truth,

your burden then,

not too strong a word,

your BURDEN then is that you yearn for the whole world to also know what you know.

Take a moment and really settle and listen to that again.

When you FIND the ABSOLUTE truth,

your burden then, not too strong a word,

your BURDEN then is that you yearn for the whole world to also know what you know.

I call that being a KEY MASTER

Here is what that means:

When you know you know,

you then go on a LIFE’S MISSION to pass on what you know to your fellow man.

THAT, and that alone has become my own burden and I suppose, my art.

TO UN-LOCK 10,000 people and share what I know that I know that I know.

Just as you will and just as you have already started.

If you have PASSION for capitalism within the INSPIRATION economy

—–THAT is where it comes from

BECAUSE you are a KEY-MASTER!

THY KEYS of FREEDOM

We are the “Key Masters” to life.

Our job is to simply hand out the “keys” of life to others who are in jail

——-and it is up to them to open the gate!

I SAID —–those who are in (mental) J-A-I-L

THEIR job is to unlock the gate of their own personal jail and to WALK out and to follow you.

That is what our job is.

NOTHING MORE.

No more bribes….

No more chasing.

Expose, involve and upgrade.

Turn buyers into partners.

Partners into clients.

(It’s servanthood versus “pay me please”)

And when we try to get “cute” and open the cell door for them and we go into their cell and pick them up and carry them out to the light—

That my friend IS WHERE WE GO ASTRAY!

THAT kind of co-dependent ego-trip is NOT what CREATION intended for us to do.

We are Key Masters…

Nothing more.

—a movement OF the people.

The responsibility then of the Key Master is ominous.

THE BURDEN is intense.

Walking Through The Agony of Darkness…

Not only do we have to pass through fear and hell just to get to the jail cells,

we also have to live with the grief and destruction we see as we are down there passing out the keys to life.

Here is what you have to do:

You have to listen to people’s “war stories.”
You have to STARE mediocrity in the face: theirs.
WE have to endure their lack of self esteem.
We have to watch them vomit on themselves.

YOU are the Key-master…

THEY are in the PRISON of their own demise.

And we watch them EAT AT their own self-image

And we WATCH them speak DARKNESS into themselves.

THEY speak themselves down

THEY tell war stories and bitch and complain

They CRY, CRY, CRY…

But we move ahead.

And we walk past them

and say, simply, “FOLLOW ME.”

Plus….

we have to carry with us the agony of leaving those behind us who aren’t already behind us.

Just think of it my friend,

** YOU ** walk through miles and miles of rugged terrain filled with near-death experiences along the way only to get to YOUR final destination of being a Key Master.

Then….

when you arrive at your first cell you find a mother and her child weeping in the corner, too weak to even get up to walk across the room to get the Keys of life from you.

“Here is the Key… take it and come with me.”

But they are too weak to grab your hand:

So, what do you do?

SHOULD you over-extend yourself?

You open the cell door for her, pick her and her child up and carry them to safety.

And all the while you have to walk past thousands of other women and children screaming at you as you pass—

they ARE ready to get out but can’t.

Why?

Because you used up your Keys on the first cell you passed.

On the weak.

On that lady and her crying baby.

And you WASTE your ENERGY trying to “convince” people.

Ponder this…

Do we lose our credibility when we need to cajole people into partnering with us?

The lesson: LET the CRYING Mother Be.

CARRY NO ONE OUT of the PRISON

CARRY NO ONE to the finish line

YOU

CANT

AFFORD IT

YOU ONLY SERVE those who were BORN to be released by you and NO ONE else.

And we waste our LIFE with the wrong TYPES of people.

So my Brother and Sister Gladiators + Key Masters….

WHAT is your mission in life?

How about to be strong.

To be what the UNIVERSE intended us to be—

Gladiator Key Masters.

Walk through hell—

do your job and don’t look back.

Be honored that you were entrusted with the Keys to life.

Be honored that the UNIVERSE introduce you and me as we walked through a living hell passing out our Keys to the wrong Cell mates.

Think we each don’t participate in our own local Social-cult-ridden anti-capitalist towns?

If you think you are devoid of that, try to share your opportunity locally.

Watch the sparks fly.

So what happens?

When you WASTE your time on the wrong types of people and look back and you have wasted another year of your life——

THAT is Hell…

HELL is also when the person you are TODAY looks in the mirror and sees the person you could have been.

STARING back at you from the mirror.

I’ll be me…. You be you.

Be the best KEY MASTER that you can be.

Don’t look back my Gladiator friend.

The UNIVERSE has chosen someone else to pick up those pieces behind us and to help those who can’t

get up and walk to GRAB the Keys of Life.

The Pastor will coddle the lonely.

The 12-step programs will never go away.

Not us.

Not you.

Not me.

Because

We have a different path!

See….

If you and I do our jobs, it will enable those other people, who were “appointed” to do those things which drag us down, to do theirs.

Be a Key Master today my Gladiator friend.

Experience the genius in you on demand.

Walk your rounds and hand out the Keys of Life to the RIGHT people–not the WRONG people.

Not only are you not supposed to give them the keys of life,

BUT they will suck the life out of you if you do

–that is why you and I were appointed to this finicky profession.

To walk our “rounds” and to hand out the Keys of life.

Somehow we get confused and sidetracked…

when we start to think that our job is anything more.

YOU owe them nothing.

Beyond… POINT to the system.

POINT to TRUTH…

POINT to our fellowship and do * NOT * look back.

BEG NO ONE

But do NOT lose your soul or your dignity in the process.

A higher consciousness is not for everyone.

It’s ONLY for people whose self image can support the ideal that this industry can help you become a Pinnacle leader.

It’s about duplication.

This is only for visionaries who can sell and lead.

This is only for the strong…

Do you understand this?

1st you inspire

2nd you involve

3rd you invite (inspire others)

The weak (97%) work for the 3% who employ them.

Others will grab a check.

You collect love.

Share love.

Grow lives.

Give more life.

That’s a better life.

Sow. Give. Share.

“What you give away you always get to keep.”

Others will get paid for what their job pays.

YOU earn income based on who you are

not what your job pays.

Employment pays once per hour.

Entrepreneurs earn over and over per hour!

Employed folks serve a boss.

You and I serve a country.

We inspire more revenue into the WORLD.

THE KEY MASTERS

An OPEN REVIVAL for Samurai Hippies and their families…

STOP trying to “save” people.

OTHERS will assist that Mother and crying child.

THAT is not your job.

I’ve never been in prison, but I’ve been imprisoned.

Other than the fact that a prison is a physical place where people are forced to be… there’s really no difference between being in prison and living a life imprisoned.

Think about it… if you are living an imprisoned life,
you are caged in,
you are not free to do what you want,
you wear shackles of fear, doubt, worry, disbelief, anger, jealousy, bitterness…
your day is dictated by what others tell you to do,
you follow rules and regulations 24/7
you are always on edge
you long to be free.

The only way you get out of a real prison is determined by others.

The only way you are released from you imprisoned life is determined by you.

How? By unlocking the door. By deciding this is not all there is to life.

Most people live imprisoned lives.

Maybe it’s where you are right now … imprisoned and yearning for freedom.

Are you allowing others to wrongfully imprison you?

Who do you allow to negate your dreams?

“You’ve never been successful”
“You are too old, too young, too ______”
“These things are all scams, no one ever makes money in these.”

Click. The cell door slams, the key turns and you are wrongfully imprisoned. Falsely accused by words of fear, self doubt that others project into you.

You cry out NO! You’re wrong!
I’m not afraid to go after my dream. I am strong enough, smart enough, determined enough to achieve this desire that burns like a fire in my soul.

Break out! Be free! Shout to the Universe I AM. I am enough. I believe in me! I am confident. I am resilient.

And watch the cell door disappear.

Jailbreak time.

Your Happy New Year Starts Whenever You Decide … Setting Goals on Purpose

Here it comes … the new year …

Oh how people do like to start over on Jan 1 – resolve to be, do greater things in the next year than in the past.

And many give the old year one last go by partying the night away … as if to end the chapter, get one more hurrah in before making the fresh start on a new page.

Haven’t you heard people say, “I’m ordering the triple layer fudge desert because I’m starting a diet on Jan 1?, or this is my last pack of cigarettes, my last night of drinking, my last day of sitting on the couch and not exercising?”

Jan 1 is just a marker for the new year, but your new year starts whenever you decide to start.

You start anew every single day.

Actually, in every moment.

Your new year can start today.

And … it starts with what you are thinking.

In “The Master Key System,” Charles Haanel writes:

A thought dropped into the invisible substance of the Universal Mind, that substance from which all things are created, and as it takes root, the law of growth begins to take effect and we find that conditions and environment are but the objective form of our thought.

It is your thoughts that create your reality.

Sounds so simple really, doesn’t it?

Think of money, health, love and you’ll receive it! Boom! Sweeeeeeet!

That’s the easy part.

The difficult part of this process is recognizing and changing the self-limiting and false beliefs you have stored up for years.

Yep – they are in there … filed away to be retrieved anytime you have a new thought about wealth, about being healthy, about finding the love of your life…

File retrieved in an instant …

the file marked “Remember when …” And now your mind is a tangled mess of “I desire this in my life thoughts” and “oh, but the last time you tried something it failed thoughts”

and how in the heck can anyone go forward and grow when there is such a jumbled mass of all these thoughts?

Sort of inorganic isn’t it – lacking structure, character or vitality as defined by Webster.

Where does the “magic” happen – how does the switch get flipped?

When does organic growth begin in your mind?

The law is that Thought is an active vital form of dynamic energy which has the power to correlate with its object and bring it out of the invisible substance from which all things are created into the visible or objective world. – Haanel

Here’s an assignment for today … Yes an assignment

And if you are one to make New Year’s resolutions … this replaces that activity.

It comes from the book “Spiritual Marketing” by Joe Vitale.

There is not one way to do this, there are multitudes of ways to visualize and set your intentions.

There is not one secret formula that if you follow these steps exactly, you’ll get what you desire.

This is just what Joe Vitale shared and it might be exactly what you need today to change the direction of the new year.

First, you have to know what you don’t want … and that’s the easy part. We all know this list by heart don’t we? I don’t want to struggle in business. I don’t want these bills. I don’t want to be single. I don’t want to be overweight.

This is your current reality.

Second: Turn every one of those things you don’t want (you know, those complaints and worries that always come to mind) turn them around to something you DO want.

I don’t want to struggle in business becomes I want business to come to me easily and effortlessly.

I don’t want to be overweight becomes I want to be physically fit and healthy.

You’re not done yet … this is refocusing your direction now.

You are beginning the process to change your beliefs.

Third, now make a list of all that you want to be, do and have.

All … everything … unlimited …

If you start feeling a bit greedy or selfish as you write these down … be sure you also want others to have success, money, love, health too. There isn’t any shortage in the Universe … abundance is everywhere.

Write this list. On paper. Yes, write it down.

A study revealed that people who actually wrote down their wants on a list like this, then tucked it away … when they pulled it
out a year later, 80% of what they had written had manifested.

You’re still not done.

Fourth, now look over that list. See which of all those things your wrote down jump out at you.

Which one(s) is THE ONE that you would really, really, really like to be, do or have?

Which one of the list has the most emotional energy? This is your goal. It might scare you if it’s really big and that’s ok.

A goal should scare you a little and excite you a lot.-Joe Vitale

And you can combine goals … nothing wrong with that.

For example, you might feel that strong tug of emotion for: I want to weigh 120 pounds, own a new car and have a residual income of $30k a month by next Christmas.

Spirit is substance which forms itself according to your demands, and must have a pattern from which to work. A pan of dough is as willing to be formed into bread as biscuit. It makes as little difference to Spirit what we demand. Frances Larimer Warner 1907

FINAL STEP: Now write your intention or goal as if you already have it … in present tense. Instead of I want … write I now have or I AM: I now weigh 120 pounds, I now own a new Roadtrek, and I AM earning a residual income of $30k a month.

Now relax. You have just planted a seed in your inorganic mind. Allow the work to begin. The work of the Universe, God, Source – whatever you name the Universal Power that is the great I AM.

Your task now is to continue living and doing, but with an openness and awareness of opportunities and people who will be placed in your path. Allow the organic work to begin.

The great error of the present day is the idea that Man has to originate the intelligence whereby the Infinite can proceed to bring about a specific purpose or result. Nothing of this kind is necessary; the Universal Mind can be depended upon to find the ways and means for bringing about any necessary manifestation.We must, however, create the ideal, and this ideal should be perfect. – Haanel

The goal that you set will be the idea that is perfect … the one that pricks your heart, fills you with excitement and yes, might even scare you a bit if it seems right now it’s unattainable.
